i'm talking about $1000 worth of pokemon cards though..not actual money lol

so around 5 years ago i was HEAVILY into collecting pokemon cards (i still am), i just mostly stopped collecting for now because they're like 2-3x more expensive than 4 years ago..fuck logan paul bro it's his fault

and for my birthday i got this thing called the "tag team powers collection box". it came with my 2 favorite pokemon on a tag team card (umbreon and darkrai). it had an espeon and deoxys one too which was cool too i guess.

it also came with an eevee gx, a carracosta gx, and a holo leafeon, glaceon, and regigigas. (or however you spell it idc) and 8 packs, including evolutions and cosmic eclispe..this will be important later so remember that

keep in mind when i originally got it for my birthday it was around $80, and even then i thought it was a little overpriced for just 8 packs

so i opened it(..first mistake if i kept it sealed i might be RICH RIGHT NOW) and i barely pulled shit from the packs. the only things of note i pulled were an incineroar gx, and an exeggucutor secret rare. fun fact, that's the only pokemon card ever to have both english AND japanese on it..so that's cool :)

and i didn't have a binder at the time, so i just kept most of the cards under my bed, in the box it came in.

i did that for a little less than a year, until i got my own binder for the first time.

so i was looking under the bed for my cards and i was missing two.

MY DARKRAI CARD WAS GONE NOOOOOOO...and the deoxys one too BUT MY FAVORITE CARD OF ALL TIME WAS MISSING!!!!!!!

i looked all around for it. i asked my mom, my brother, i searched the garbage, my desk, my closet, even my fucking shoes.

but nope. i just lost it. forever.

i coped with it by saying "oh it's not a big deal. it's worth like what, 20 dollars? in a couple years you could just get it off ebay or something"

so i just forgot i had it, until i started getting into pokemon cards again a couple weeks ago

i search up the price of the card just to make sure and guess what? IT WAS 190 FUCKING DOLLARS!!!!!

keep in mind that my WHOLE collection (not my whole collection, just like the 30 cards i like the most) COMBINED it around 215.

i haven't even checked the deoxys one yet bro omg i'm checking it now..THATS 125 DOLLARS TOO FUCK

so that's only 315 dollars. you might be asking "how did you get to 2000???"

i looked up how much it would cost to just buy the origninal box, unopened. (keep in mind it was $80 when i first bought it)

it is now 2-3 THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS.

HOW????????????????? IT ONLY COMES WITH 8 FUCKING PACKS??????? WHY IS IT SO MUCH????????

keep in mind that's usd. so in canada that's basically 2.5-4 thousand.

you also might be saying "atleast you have all the other cards the box came with

the eevee is 20-25 dollars. the glaceon and leafeon are 5 dollars each. the carracosta is 2 dollars. and the regigigas is fucking 75 cents.

i don't like it when people ONLY judge pokemon cards off of their cost but..it had my two favorite fucking pokemon ever on it bro they'll probably never do tag team cards like that again, they haven't made one since sun and moon ended. if i'm correct they were like one of the last 5 tag team cards ever made in america.

keep in mind all the other cards i still have from that box are in PRISTINE condition, so the 2 cards would've likely been a psa 9-10 if i actually graded it. (which is a whole topic for another day)

that means the darkrai card would've been UP TO 4000 DOLLARS IF IT GOT A PSA 10.

AND THE DEOXYS ONE WOULD BEEN 2000
